Monterrey Trip

On Thursday Nick finished his finals for his first term of school AND did a great job! We really wanted to do something fun for his break. Lucky for us Nick's friend Ashley had the same idea and a timeshare in Monterrey! We were so excited when she invited us to go with her. One of the coolest things was that the timeshare was at the same place that Nick and I stayed during our Honeymoon!

The weather was crazy, but with a little planning we were able to do everything that we wanted to. On Friday there was a break in the rain long enough for us to take the kids to the awesome Dennis the Menace park. They had so much fun!

When we got back from the park and the kids had some lunch, we walked down to the beach. It brought back a lot of memories for me standing on the same exact beach as we had when we first got married. It was fun now to be able to be there with Sienna. It was cold, but we stuck our feet in the sand and Nick even put his feet in the ocean...crazy person...

On Saturday it was crazy rainy, but the good news was that we had planned to go the Monterrey Bay Aquarium that day. Sienna loved it! She would point at everything and say, "Fish, fish..." We got to see the penguin feeding, play in the splash zones and even touch some animals in the touch pools.

Our group at the Aquarium!

We had so much fun and it was the perfect, albeit rainy, way to get away and celebrate the end of Nick's first term.

A New Cousin...

Nick's brother and his wife had a new baby girl a couple of weeks ago! We were so excited to finally hear if it was a boy or a girl because she was apparently very stubborn and after three inconclusive ultrasounds they gave up trying to find out. We have been excited to meet her and were very excited when they told us that they were coming over the mountain from Reno to come show Miss Kalina off to everyone last weekend.

Sienna and her Hudson cousins

Sienna to a liking to Kalina and even wanted to hold her! She was so sweet and did a great job of touching her softly and even tried rocking her back and forth like she does with her baby dolls. We loved meeting Kalina and are now looking forward to meeting a new boy cousin on my side in May.
