Getting Fit with the Wii

What's the best way to get excited about moving around and losing some weight? Spending a lot of money to get a brand new Wii Fit!

Nick and I finally gave in after weeks of both of us talking about how bad we wanted to try it. I'm a little bit nervous that my Wii will tell me I'm fat but super excited that you can hoola hoop...

Adventures in babysitting...

Last night I got the chance to work one of the best gigs EVER. The family that I babysat for has a four and half year old boy that goes to my pre-school and then the craziest one year old girl. I just love them and because I love them so much here are my top five favorite reasons that I got to babysit them last night. (In no particular order...)

1. The parents. At work I deal with some seriously ridiculous parents, so it's really nice when I get to interact with super cool ones. Both Mom and Dad are just nice, happy, laid back people who you can tell adore their kids. Plus they helped Nick get his job at Fastenal.

2. Steve's Pizza. Everytime I babysit they leave me money to get pizza and I got to tell you, it's delicious.

3. Their crazy little girl. She was EVERYWHERE last night. She was crawling all over here brother like he wasn't even there and she does some great animal noises including a snake and the silliest monster sound you've ever heard.

4. The amount of red Power Rangers. The picture speaks for itself.

5. Great Conversation:

Me: So what did you want on the pizza tonight?
H: Ummm...pepperoni and pears
Me: You mean like pears with the pizza on the side because I'm pretty sure they don't put pears on pizzas at this place.
H: Oh, Miss Marianne yes they do. We got it last time.
Me: Are you sure that I know what pears are?
H: The yellow things that go on pizza!
Me: OH! Pineapple?
H: Yeah, pineapple. I got confused. They both start with 'pah' right?
Me: Yes you are correct.
H: Well, then why haven't you ordered the pizza yet?!
Me: I have no idea.

Easter Weekend

We started out our Easter weekend by going to the Langstraat's house on Friday night to dye easter eggs. Nick and I had a great time coloring eggs and I was proud of my husband for joining in and participating in another one of the silly holiday traditions that I love....

Friday, during the day, I got the opportunity to hang with Erin and Brianna while Erin made Nick's Easter present. For those of you who don't know Nick LOVES the weight watcher's hungry monster mascot. He is even the wallpaper on our laptop. After looking all over the internet and realizing that you couldn't buy him I asked Erin if she could make one. She said yes, she's so fantastic! Below is a picture of him in case you aren't familiar with the commercials.

On Sunday morning Nick and I gave each other our Easter baskets. Nick was so excited and surprised that the hungry monster was so large. Nick got me Meet the Robinson's...it's my favorite movie. After we went through our Easter baskets we watched my new movie while Nick hung out with Hungry. I think that Erin did a really great job and I got to tell you that Hungry has already made himself at home...

Our Easter baskets and Hungry taking control of the remote...

After church we went down to the Esslinger's house for an egg hunt and dinner. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs and dinner was great. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to try out Megan's chocolate pie so I'm going to have to try and convince her to make it again so that we can try it out.

Mr. and Mrs. Bubba

Yesterday Bubba and Megan made it official and got married! The day had perfect weather and there were so many people there to support them. The reception site was beautiful, the food was excellent and I think that the bride and groom were really happy and the guests had a great time. The best part of the night for me was the dancing at the end of the night. My niece and nephew were dancing machines last night! I was amazed that they kept going up until the very end of the night.

Unfortunately, Tracy and Chad had planned a cruise and couldn't be there, but Charlie was there to represent for them. Nick and I had the opportunity to hang with Charlie since everyone else was working hard to make the night so great. Charlie just loved Nick. Those boys had a great time and Charlie even got Nick on to the dance floor once or twice, which if you know my husband...that is quite a challenge.

I hope you enjoy the few pictures I have and the super cute video of Jill and Charlie dancing the night away.

Busath Wedding

I wish that you could see their cute faces, but I was afraid that if they knew I was filming them they wouldn't have showed off their best moves...

Ace of Cake

Yesterday for our young women's activity we had a chance to learn about cake decorating. I was so excited because I always thought that it would be fun to decorate a cake for real and not just slap on some frosting and sprinkles. Also, let's be honest... I like anything sweet and we each got our own individual cake that we got to take home with us. I may have been more excited then my girls. The activity turned out to be a lot of fun and I think the girls enjoyed themselves too. Plus now I can make Megan and Bubba's wedding cake if they need a backup...

I was a little nervous at this stage of my cake because I didn't know how we were going to be able to make it pretty....

After smoothing the frosting with a magic paper towel...

The top of my finished cake!

It's a little bit loppy, but I'm really proud of it.

Me and one of my girls showing off our cakes.

P.S. In case you were wondering the edible flowers and leaves were alreay prepared for us...but I did all the smoothing and piping myself!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today was pajama day at work, as well as St. Patrick's Day so all the kids were a little bit excited. Some of the teachers even put little green footprints around their classrooms to make the kids think that lephercauns came last night. I was a little bit concerned on Friday because I didn't have any green pajamas and so one of my little girls suggested that I buy some Tinkerbell pajamas because she has green...hence my shirt in the following pictures. It was so fun seeing all of my kids in their pjs and they were SO excited that they got to nap in them. Nick and I ended our St. Patrick's Day eating corned beef and cabbage at my parent's house. I hope that everyone else had a great holiday as well.

Miss Jenny and me in our PJs...you can't tell in this picture but Miss Jenny's pants are AMAZING!

Samsonite and me...I LOVE the footy pjs...

Too much fun at work.
