Yesterday for our young women's activity we had a chance to learn about cake decorating. I was so excited because I always thought that it would be fun to decorate a cake for real and not just slap on some frosting and sprinkles. Also, let's be honest... I like anything sweet and we each got our own individual cake that we got to take home with us. I may have been more excited then my girls. The activity turned out to be a lot of fun and I think the girls enjoyed themselves too. Plus now I can make Megan and Bubba's wedding cake if they need a backup...

I was a little nervous at this stage of my cake because I didn't know how we were going to be able to make it pretty....

After smoothing the frosting with a magic paper towel...

The top of my finished cake!

It's a little bit loppy, but I'm really proud of it.

Me and one of my girls showing off our cakes.
P.S. In case you were wondering the edible flowers and leaves were alreay prepared for us...but I did all the smoothing and piping myself!

Hey how do you know Kylie and Dean Harris?
Oh and your cake looks great!
So cute, I would love to try something like that! And PS you were next on my list if I could find someone to make Megan's and Bubba's cake!
Nice work! YW is fun, eh?
Oh fun!! Your cake looks so good...I want to eat it. Send it to me.
I was at church last night and the YW from the other ward were making fried chicken...your activity seems far less dangerous.
It looks even better in person! I'm glad I got to see it the other night! Way to go!!!
Great cake, definitely something I've always wanted to play with as well!
